To be visible in our Member Directory, check the box that says, "I agree to share my profile information with other members on this site."
All fields are optional. Our Member Directory will allow you to connect with other class participants if you wish.
Do I need to have a certain amount of wood on hand in order to complete the lessons?
Any wood requirements will be covered in the class videos, or in the PDF downloads. The class is not live, therefore you can work at your own pace and get the supplies you need in your own time.
How long will I have access to the course lessons and content?
Access to course content is unlimited. Participants will have extended access to the static version of the course content for 12 months. This includes all video content, course materials, and Q&A session recordings.
What is the duration of each weekly lesson?
Each week there will be video content ranging from 1 to 2 hours. The Q&A sessions will be approximately 1 hour.
What skill level is required for this course?
The course is best described as intermediate. It is accessible to beginners and even experienced woodworkers will learn a thing or two.
What tools should a participant have access to in order to get the most out of the course?
We will cover machine operations that utilize the tablesaw, router table, and bandsaw. Power tools will include the fixed-base router and plunge router. Handwork will involve a basic kit of hand tools: block plane, smoothing plane, bench chisel set, combination square, back saw, marking knife, marking gauge, bevel gauge, and coping saw.
Is it required to purchase the book Foundations of Woodworking for participation in this course?
Foundations of Woodworkingwill make a nice companion for the class, but it is not required. There will be downloadable/printable worksheets of all the content needed for each section of the course. Clickhere to find out more about the book.
Will the course have students build any finished projects? Or, lessons that are not part of a project build?
The course work will be comprised of stand-alone joinery exercises as well as complete projects.
